Less than a week away, space is limited. We want you to be there for a fantastic night of live music and support of our programs, bringing hope and healing through live music to our neighbors most in need.

FANTASTIC NEGRITO is a musically inventive performer and truth-teller from Oakland who is exploding onto the national music scene with his gritty and authentic style-- a unique and compelling blend of old school soul, gospel and rock. His personal story as an African-American man on the streets of Oakland gives an edgy and dynamic life to his music. Influenced by diverse artists from Leadbelly to Led Zeppelin, Negrito translates his “black roots music for everyone” into his own unique sound. He and his band played at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival last year and just returned from Austin, TX where he made his mark at South by Southwest (SXSW). He has a new album coming out and is currently on a 21-city European tour. He won NPR’s “Tiny Desk Concert Contest” for the song "Lost in a Crowd" from over 7,000 entries and is not to be missed! The Most Interesting Blues Man In the World - Yahoo! Music, 3/23/16

Beloved Bay Area baseball player Barry Zito is now trying his hand at songwriting in Nashville. There aren't many performers who have both a strong left throwing arm as well as a songwriter's gift for writing catchy hooks. Though he's thrown his final pitch for the Sounds, it seems his work in Music City is just beginning. We are thrilled that he could join us tonight in San Rafael to share his original songs.

THE LADY CROONERS are a six-piece folk/pop ‘almost country’ band from San Francisco, CA featuring siblings Nadia, Joseph, and Megan Krilanovich with lead guitarist Kevin Conness, bassist Jason Braatz and John Smart on percussion/mandolin. Their song “Sweetheart” from their latest release The Surface says it all about their signature raucous, sophisticated, down-home act. Here’s to the power of sibling harmonies!

As of August 25th, the San Francisco Giants Contest is now officially over. First-place winner Laura Benward will sing the national anthem at the Giants game on Sat. Sept. 12. Second-place winner John Nash will receive five hours of engineered recording time at Fantasy Studios.

Thanks to all who supported Bread & Roses Presents by voting for our volunteer performers who participated in the contest. We appreciate your help in bringing live music to those who need it most!

Congratulations to Damond Moodie and Christopher Bryden for winning the Oakland A's Oh Say, Can You Sing? contest held earlier this year.
