THE PROMISE, a documentary by Grammy- and Emmy-winning filmmaker Thom Zimny, combines never-before-seen footage of Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band shot between 1976 and 1978 (including home rehearsals and studio sessions) with new interviews with Springsteen, E Street Band members, manager Jon Landau, former-manager Mike Appel, and others closely involved in the making of the 1978 album, Darkness on the Edge of Town.

Bruce Springsteen has requested that all showings of the nationally screened film benefit local non-profit film theatres and organizations.  This local screening of the documentary benefits Bread & Roses. All benefit screenings will include product giveaways, with audience members eligible to win "The Promise: The Making of Darkness On The Edge of Town" BluRay, available in stores on May 3rd.

It is an honor to be able to give something back to both these organizations, which serve our community and where I have served on the board of directors,” said Pennathur.

The proceeds this year will be split in a unique partnership between Bread & Roses and The Redwoods, a nonprofit community of seniors in Mill Valley whom Bread & Roses has served for over 15 years.
