Essence Stories
We call stories written about Bread & Roses shows that convey the essence or heart of our program our "essence stories." They are designed to illustrate the magic that happens between performer and audience at a Bread & Roses performance. They also show how meaningful it is for both performer and audience to interact with each other in an intimate institutional setting and how both are uplifted by the experience. These stories are written by our staff, volunteer hosts, facility staff, volunteer performers and audience members at the institutions we serve. They are a treasured record of the impact of our work that so many have contributed to since our organization was founded by Mimi Fariña in 1974.
